Destination Shopping Arrives at the Perfect Location in Miami Beach
You're in the best zip code in the city, with a stunning stretch of shoreline and top shopping venues all within walking distance. South Beach is packed with unique, avant-garde boutiques selling everything from itty-bitty Brazilian bikinis to the most contemporary of European handbags. There's a good chance you'll be rubbing elbows with a few celebrities as you visit South Beach standards such as Intermix, Club Monaco and Diesel—and that's just for starters.
Along Collins and Washington Avenue alone, there are myriad shops for every taste, including Kenneth Cole and Armani. But there's also a bevy of options on Lincoln Road Mall, from big national names like Anthropologie to singular boutiques such as BASE, a "lifestyle/concept" store with a fun array of eclectic clothing and footwear; Genius Jones, with adorable apparel, toys and furnishings for children; local favorite Books and Books, and beauty emporium Brownes & Co., which has a beauty salon on the second floor. As you make your way to Lincoln Road, don't forget to stop by Española Way, for some browsing in fun stores and the occasional street market.
A short drive away, but still on Miami Beach, you'll run into the Bal Harbour Shops, and their wealth of high-end options—Bulgari, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Celine, Gucci, Hermes and Prada, among others.
Do take the time to visit other venues outside of Miami Beach, as there's much to explore. For waterfront shopping right by Biscayne Bay, visitors can just hop on a five-minute cab ride (or even bike ride) over MacArthur Causeway to Bayside Marketplace, with stores like Cache, Passage to India and Kipling, not to mention many dining venues. There's also Aventura Mall, a shopping haven with stores such as Furla, Hugo Boss and Bloomingdale's. You can spend an entire day here and not cover all the stores.
For even more retail therapy and lots of exercise (wear your comfiest walking shoes), head to outlet heaven Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise. This is Florida's largest outlet center, so get ready. You'll find outlet stores that will make your toes tingle: Nordstrom Rack, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Kate Spade, Lacoste, Tumi, Coach, Theory, Stuart Weitzman…and much, much more.
